TrailNav is operated by TrailNav ("we", "us"). For privacy inquiries, contact us at privacy@trailnav.app.
2. Data We Collect
- Account data: Email address, display name, profile photo (optional).
- Location data: GPS coordinates during ride recording (only when you start a ride).
- Ride data: Routes, distance, duration, speed, elevation.
- Third-party tokens: Strava OAuth tokens (if you connect Strava).
- Device data: Device type, OS version, app version, crash reports.
3. How We Use Your Data
- Provide navigation, ride tracking, and trail recommendations.
- Display trail weather conditions (via Open-Meteo — no personal data shared).
- Sync rides with Strava (only when you explicitly connect).
- Improve app performance and fix bugs (via Sentry crash reporting).
- Send important service notifications (opt-in marketing emails only).
4. Third-Party Services
- Supabase (EU) — Database and authentication.
- Strava API — Ride sync (user-initiated).
- Open-Meteo — Weather data (no personal data sent).
- Sentry — Error tracking and crash reporting.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in Supabase (EU region, Frankfurt). We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access is restricted to authorized personnel only.
6. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@trailnav.app. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed within 30 days.
8. Cookies
The TrailNav website uses minimal analytics. The mobile app does not use cookies.
9. Children
TrailNav is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. Significant changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification.
